Your marriage may still have a path forward.
YOU MIGHT NOT HAVE TO GET A DIVORCE…
So how do you become unhappy in a marriage?
The problem is that the unhappiness often creeps up on you when you didn’t even know it’s happening. So HOW does it happen?
What happened? You began your marriage feeling excited about having a future together. You make those vows to one another (official or not) to love one another for the rest of your lives. Loving your partner in the beginning was so easy—leaving you to think things will just flow smoothly like they have so far…with maybe a few bumps here and there. But now, it seems like it’s all bumps and getting harder to feel positively about your partner.
At some point, you begin to realize that you’re not the same person you used to be. Maybe you blame yourself at first? Why did I stop taking good care of myself? Why do I have no motivation to do the things I used to enjoy? Where did she go—the woman I used to know?
Then there are the things no one told you: that there will be conflict or how important it is to learn HOW TO RESOLVE CONFLICT in ways that are really effective and lasting? No one wants others to know they have problems in their marriage, almost like it’s a stain on their love. What I know is that many people have difficulties in their marriages… they have more conflict than you ever see, so it’s easy to end up feeling alone in your struggles. YOU ARE NOT ALONE in this: I promise!
You may feel like ‘you’ve lost your self.’ But blaming it on yourself does nothing to increase your happiness or contentment. We work together to find you again. You may already know, through previous efforts, that trying to change your husband or getting him to understand with words does not work.
Of course, major problems like abuse, alcoholism and cheating are some of the issues that are so big and so all-consuming that they have to be dealt with first before the very common marriage conflicts that center around, communication, money and sex.
It is also very common to go through periods of doubt in your marriage. “Do I still want to be married to this person? Would I be happier alone? This is the first time I’ve actually thought of divorce—does that mean a divorce is going to happen?” You may not realize how common it is because most people don’t tell you. Your husband/partner may have these same doubts but typically, neither one of you tells the other one.
I can help you bring about the changes you want in your life. You alone have the control to change your life; I will show you how to do that. I can’t wait for you to discover the power you actually have to live your best life.
